NEW YORK STATE EMISSIONS INSPECTIONS
WHEN YOU NEED A SAFETY INSPECTION
All vehicles registered in New York State must get a safety inspection at a DMV-licensed inspection station.
- Every 12 months
- When the ownership of the vehicle is transferred A valid inspection sticker must be displayed on your vehicle.
- Inspections expire the last day of the month punched on the inspection sticker.
- When you purchase a vehicle, new or used.
We also do motorcycle inspections.
New York State Inspections Required Once A Year
All cars registered in New York State are required to have an annual safety and emissions inspection. If your vehicle is not inspected; you may receive a fine and won’t be allowed to renew your car’s registration. New York State inspections are important to ensure that all cars meet all safety requirements. During a New York State inspection, all safety related systems are inspected and tested. In addition, an exhaust emissions test is performed to ensure that cars registered in New York State are not polluting and running efficiently.

Pre-Purchase Car Inspection
A pre purchase vehicle inspection (PPI) is a thorough vehicle assessment done by a certified auto technician to evaluate the cosmetic, safety, and mechanical aspects of a used vehicle before purchase. The reason for a PPI is to unveil any hidden conditions or potential failure within the vehicle that may lead to a substantial financial burden for the potential buyer in the future.

Our shop has also invested in state-of-the-art equipment and tools over the years to be able to perform a thorough inspection of any used vehicle that you are considering.
IF YOUR VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE A VALID INSPECTION
- You cannot renew the registration
- You can receive a fine and/or a parking ticket
